Israeli Strikes Hit Bint Jbeil and Nabatieh as Impunity Continues

Today, an Israeli drone strike targeted a car through launching two missiles at the entrance to Yater – Tayr Hamra area in the Bint Jbeil district in southern Lebanon, according to the National News Agency.

The Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center issued a statement indicating that one person has been injured by the attack.

Yesterday evening, an Israeli airstrike on Nabatieh injured 12 civilians, including four children and seven women according to the ministry.

Israeli military spokesperson to the Arab Media Avichay Adraee claimed that the strike targeted a Hezbollah command center. However, almost all of those injured were women and children.

The strike did not target a military person in Hezbollah nor a place where weaponry has been identified, but rather a residential building where those impacted are civilians.

Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israeli strikes continue unabated, impacting civilians across Lebanon, especially in southern areas. Meanwhile, Israeli forces’ continued occupation of southern Lebanese areas has made life difficult for residents close to the border, preventing them from accessing basic needs.

Urgent Arab Summit

Yesterday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun headed to Qatar’s capital, Doha, to lead Lebanon’s delegation at an emergency Arab-Islamic summit following last week’s Israeli strike on Qatar.

The delegation also included Lebanon Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, Lebanon’s Ambassador to Qatar Farah Berri, and Lebanon’s permanent representative to the Arab League Ali Ambassador Ali Halabi according to LBCI.

Gulf Cooperation Council countries are yet to take active steps to respond to Israel’s strike on Qatar.
