Today, the Vintage Collective Market began its first edition in College Saint Sauveur school in Badaro. The market will run over three days, starting today and ending on Monday, 21 April, and will open every day from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
The market features a mixture of art and vintage displays, including a diverse array of booths, shops and food stalls offering a variety of items. The items range from vintage interior decorative pieces to beads, clothing and paintings, as well as unique food items and local farm products.
Sharing Stories
“We’re in a country where there’s a lot of stories, and this is what’s beautiful about Lebanon,” explains Rola Rizkallah, the main organizer of the market. “Whenever you go to a house, whenever you go to a mountain and people invite you for a coffee, they have a story to tell. And here, today, we’re going to hear a lot of stories”.
Emphasizing the local aspect of the market, Rizkallah explains that its food court only features the work of local farmers and products from local ingredients.
“Its uniqueness is that we are getting people out of their homes,” adds Rizkallah. After collecting items for a number of years, the market would be an opportunity for people to know the value of their items, make an extra income or “share the story of the item”.
