An Israeli airstrike struck a residential building in the al-Qaem neighborhood of Beirut’s southern suburb around 3:15 AM. This marks the fourth strike on Dahiyeh in less than a week.
The Israeli army claims to have killed Mohammad Hussein Srour, the head of Hezbollah’s air unit, in the strike, according to Avichay Adraee, the army’s Arabic-speaking spokesperson, on his X account.
Reports state that four people were killed and 15 others injured in the attack, with three missiles fired at the building. The strike reportedly took place on the same street where Israel eliminated leaders of Hezbollah’s ‘Radwan Force’ last week.
Shortly after Israel’s strike on Dahiyeh in Beirut’s southern suburb, an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in Kahale, in the Aley district, 10 kilometers outside Beirut. This marks the first time Israel has carried out a strike in that area.
The Lebanese Health Minister announced this afternoon that the attack left one person injured. Kahale’s mayor, Jean Bejjani, stated, “The attack was carried out directly and precisely, without any noise being heard.” The reason for the attack remains unclear.
The Health Minister also reported that 60 people have been killed and 81 injured so far in 115 Israeli strikes on Lebanon today.
At least 1,540 people have been killed and 5,410 wounded in Lebanon over nearly a year of conflict with Israel, according to Lebanese government statistics. Nearly half of the casualties have occurred in the past 10 days.
