Hezbollah announced this morning that it had targeted the Mossad headquarters, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.
According to Hezbollah, these headquarters were “responsible for assassinating leaders and rigging pagers and wireless devices.” The attack involved the launch of a Qader-1 ballistic missile.
This marks the first time Hezbollah has ever attacked Tel Aviv.
On Wednesday, September 25, warning sirens echoed through Tel Aviv, after a surface-to-surface missile was detected crossing from Lebanon.
The Israeli military reported that the missile was intercepted by air defense systems, preventing any damage or casualties. Civil defense instructions for central Israel remained unchanged, and sirens were also heard in other areas, including Netanya.
As a result of Hezbollah’s attack on Mossad headquarters in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed his trip to New York until Thursday, September 26.
Hezbollah’s attack follows a night of continuous Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, targeting southern Lebanon and the Bekaa-Baalbeck province in the east. Just after midnight, Israel also struck the Jiyyeh area, a city 20 kilometers from Beirut, near the highway leading to southern Lebanon. This marks the first time Israel has targeted this area.
Since September 23, Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon have killed at least 569 people, including 50 children and 94 women, with 1,835 more wounded. Civilians from southern and eastern Lebanon have been forced to flee in search of safety. In response, Hezbollah has launched a series of missiles targeting Israeli airbases.
